Deciding on the type of care and the right care provider can be challenging. It is a difficult and anxiety-filled choice. To better help you in making the right decision for you and your loved one, we have prepared Q & A list. Please note that this is a general reference and may not fit your current situation. It is always best to request personal consultation and in-home assessment.
Where does A Prime Home Care Services, Inc. provide service?
Service is available in Los Angeles, Ventura, and Santa Barbara counties. If you are unsure whether we cater to your area, please do not hesitate to contact us to determine if we can assist you.
What is an In Home Assessment?
An In Home Assessment allows one of our qualified staff to visit you face-to-face in your home and work with you to determine what types of assistance you need. We’ll ask you questions about your health and living arrangements and offer customized options to fit your needs. There is no obligation to receive care or be billed for service if you request an in home assessment.
What kinds of services are available?
A Prime Home Care Services, Inc. provides comprehensive in-home care services such as personal care and grooming maintenance, meal preparation, grocery shopping and errands assistance, light housekeeping, medication reminders, subsidiary transportation, and most importantly, companionship. When is service available?
We take pride in being prompt and reliable. Service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We continually try to accommodate our clients however; for more efficient care we request for a 72-hour notice for recurring care. We also appreciate a 24-hour notice for one-time assistance.
Aside from privately owned homes, does APHCS offer services in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities?
We cater to our clients’ living arrangement. Our Care Providers offer personal and companionship services anywhere our client resides and that includes Nursing Homes and Assisted Living facilities.
Is there a minimum amount of time for which I can request care?
No. Most care is scheduled for at least eight hours. If you engage one of our caregivers in a task that takes longer than estimated, you may elect to have the caregiver continue at the normal hourly rate for services, or agree that you are satisfied with their progress and stop their work with what has been accomplished.
How much does APHCS charge for service?
Services are personalized and customized to client’s needs and preferences so; fees may vary depending on the level and type of care. Hourly rates range from $35.00-$42.00 per hour. Fees will be determined on initial consultation and in-home assessment. You will be informed, consulted and asked to approve the rate prior to beginning of service.
Does APHCS charge the same for couples living together?
The rates for any additional individual requiring companion care may vary depending on the level of care and services needed.
Does APHCS accept insurance or Medicaid?
We are a Non Medical Custodial Care Agency, Medicaid does not approve this kind of service unless you have Long Term Care Insurance. You may verify eligibility with your insurance provider.
How soon can I receive service?
As soon as an in-home assessment is conducted and the paperwork completed, we can begin providing care services. This process usually takes about 24 hours and is done to ensure that your needs are properly met.
Do I have to sign a contract?
A contract and/or service agreement is provided for your review and signature. It will detail the services to be provided, fees and other information that will help protect the rights of both parties.
Can I cancel service? If yes, how do I cancel it?
Cancellations can be made by contacting our office. We require at least 7-day notice if you wish to cancel a recurring service. A 24-hour notice is required for occasional clients canceling service. Should you wish to change current service arrangements, please give us at least 24 hour notice. Please note that cancellation policies are made to better serve and protect our clients.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. We are confident in the quality of care that we provide that we guarantee our service. If by any chance you are not 100% satisfied, our next visit will be provided for FREE.
Will I receive care from the same person?
APHCS knows that reliability and stability is very important to you. We try to have the same care provider to consistently work with you. Should there be any changes or substitution, you will be given ample notice. Substitute Care Providers will be introduced in advance so, you could get acquainted and build rapport.
Can I trust my caregiver?
All our caregivers are carefully pre-screened based on their skills, qualifications, experience, and aptitude. They undergo a stringent hiring process, which includes criminal background checks, to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. In addition, all caregivers are required to complete CPR and First Aid training to ensure they are qualified to respond appropriately in emergency situations. For your peace of mind, all caregivers are fully insured and bonded. Should you have any concerns or if you are not completely satisfied with an APHCS caregiver, we will make every effort to provide an appropriate replacement or alternative arrangement promptly.
How can I be assured that I or my loved one will be cared for properly?
To ensure that you or your loved one will be properly cared for, APHCS only hire highly qualified and experienced caregivers. We also make sure that our pool of caregivers is compassionate as well as efficient. We also conduct a monthly follow up to make sure that you are completely satisfied with your caregiver and the service that we provide. Moreover, we will do a quarterly evaluation to ensure that our care standards are strictly followed by the caregiver. Please know that you will be consulted of every visit and any issues or concern brought to our attention will be resolved within 24 hours.
What if I don’t like my caregiver?
We understand that aside from competence there are other factors that may influence your reaction and interaction with your caregiver. APHCS knows that each person is unique and that their personalities, needs and preferences need to be considered when finding them the right caregiver. Using all these consideration we try to find a perfect match to assure of a lasting partnership. In instances when it does not work out, we will try to find a replacement that you will find more suitable. Please know that APHCS have Zero Tolerance policy on discrimination and abuse against our clients and caregivers and we may intervene if necessary.
What if the client goes to a facility, a hospital, or dies before the end of the month?
When our client goes to a facility, hospital or dies on the duration of the agreement, services will be automatically cancelled. An “administrative start up fee” will be deducted from the deposit only if terminated during the first month. After the first service month, a full refund will be made for any unused days. Refund payments will be sent within 30 days of the last day of service.
Is my privacy respected?
We value and respect our clients as individuals and human beings. Management, staff and caregivers of APHCS strictly comply with all HIPPA requirements. Please be assured that your privacy will be respected and we will not divulge any of your personal and medical information.
What if I cannot find the service I need?
APHCS takes pride in offering an extensive list of services. Should there be anything that you find lacking please contact our representative and we will try to accommodate you.
Will APHCS provide references?
Yes, APHCS will provide references upon request.
